greenbelt night w/ avo friends

Filed under: avo, bum — dyan @ 4:57 am

Our [Maki, Yo, Lory, Sara, Dy] gimik last night turned out to be just like last July’s rendezvous with Zyra, except that this time, Zy’s busy earning big bucks in “the land of milk and honey”.

As usual, we met up at Starbucks GB3.

Aside: As I stepped on the grounds of Starbucks, I was reminded of their 2006 planner promo. I was contemplating on whether to avail it or not. But my kuripot self decide to just settle with a chic but much cheaper planner. Hope I’d be able to find one before the year ends.

Back to my story, after hanging out at Starbucks, we decided to buy movie tix before attending to our already grumbling stomachs. We had to choose between The Prestige, Marie Antoinette, Santa Claus 3 and Flag of Our Fathers. We settled for Marie Antoinette.

Next, off we went to Glorietta to find cheaper restos. But, oh boy, it seems that at that point, everybody’s stomachs were craving for food, food and more food!

First plan was to eat at Banana Leaf but we only had less than an hour in our hands before the movie starts. So Banana Leaf, you’re out!

How about Sbarro? Jam-packed. Sbarro, you’re out!

Hmm Chef? Jam-packed also. Chef, you’re gorgeous but you’re out!

Umm Oliver’s? Jam-packed but we managed to get our butts a corner facing the entrance. Lory and I ordered their High Protein Sub? Tama ba? Anyway, their sandwiches are a real deli but Maki didn’t like their Spaghetti Bolognese. Jabi daw!

After dinner, Sara had to go home already. =(

Anyway, back to GB3, it was my first time to enter their theater. They have retractable armrests for the lovebirds. Haha, as if I need those! *raises an eyebrow*

About the movie, it was dibidi worthy! If it weren’t for my friends, I would have ended up snoring five minutes after entering the theater. My history teacher’s gonna kill me if she finds out that I don’t even remember who Marie Antoinette was. The ending was dull.

I’ve come to a conclusion that I’m not really into this type of flicks. All throughout the film, I was like saying, “Grabe naman ‘to!” I really don’t get their lifestyle. Sabi nga ni Maki, “Mga batugan!”

After the movie, we went back to Starbuko because Maki was being his galante self. I’m not one to pass up an opportunity like this, haha! But Starbuko was jam-packed again. So we settled for Café Breton [with Maki’s suggestion of course!].

Oooh it was not a bad choice. They have really yummy crepes. And the presentation was fabuloso! And the most enjoyable part… I didn’t spend a single cent! Oust Gloria! Maki for President! ;P

So there, that was Lory and I’s last Friday night as a bum. Time and money well spent with our three fab friends, Yo, Maki and Sara.

All the jokes and smiles!

I’m happy. :)

PS: Right after the movie, I saw Ron and Kelly in front of Starbucks. Such a small world! Nanuod din pala sila ng Marie Antoinette.

Question: Who arrived late in the GE Oathtaking Ceremonies?
Answer: Me and my co-tenth placer, Cenecio!

How unprofessional! We missed the processional.

Ooh rhyme!

And this entry is 3 days overdue because I nearly died 2 days ago. Spent the whole day hitting the sack.

Anyway, the program was the usual line up of speeches and inspirational talks followed by the awarding of certificates and medals. I was not able to pay much attention since I was busy snorting. Darn colds. At least I hope some of the new engineers were inspired by the speakers.

Our batch’s first placer came from FEATI University. Don’t ask me what FEATI means because I have no idea! But what’s interesting about him is that he was from UP Diliman. Indeed when one door closes, another one opens. Got that?

My cameraman was too timid to do his job. Just kidding! I didn’t expect him to be there because of his big exam. Uber thanks to you!

Anyhoot, here are some stills last Tuesday:

of sleep

Filed under: GE — dyan @ 6:03 am

Don’t you hate it when you want to catch some zzz’s because you have a big event the next day?

As a result of sleep deprivation, you get these really fugly and big eye bags.

Argh! It’s so irritating!

If only I could stifle all this extra energy… I should be in REM now. ~_~

Heck it’s 5 already and I should be up by 8? So that gives me less than 3 hrs of rest.

Wow I would definitely look harassed during the oathtaking later.

And that doesn’t end there because

* voila! *

according to the invitation I’ll be seated at the sub-presidential table.

Greetings everyone! Today is a very special event for me and my two newly found friends, my eye bags.

Boooo!

I had so much fun doing this. Thanks Filonila!

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc).
2. Put it on shuffle.
3. Press play.
4. For every question, type the song that’s playing.
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button.
6. Don’t lie and try to pretend you’re cool…

thursday high @ cafe lupe

Filed under: barkadahan — dyan @ 3:05 pm

The Barkadahan and I went to  last night to catch Ige’s band perform on stage. Yeah yeah alright! So the band’s name is Nicco and not Nikko, Nikki nor Ige. Anyway, it doesn’t matter coz we went there to see biatch.

Much to the girls’ surprise, Nicco’s gwapo, haha! Atually I was lying. I was not surprised. It was more of an affirmation coz I sort of expected that one. And what’s more? He can sing and play the guitar. No wonder he has a new fan. Right, Lez I mean Liz? :)

I cannot comment on how good they are on stage because Cafe Lupe’s sound system sucked that night. Must be the pipes, Onin? Hell I don’t know. I hate EEE!

Still I had so much fun. I was so drunk that I ended up looking like a gangsta.

Thank God or thank Norman [thanks also for the pasalubong!] for bringing a digicam.

Pics to follow!

And Ivan, it was indeed Cesar!

I forgot to share my latest multiply album. Anyway, it’s HERE.
