Our [Maki, Yo, Lory, Sara, Dy] gimik last night turned out to be just like last July’s rendezvous with Zyra, except that this time, Zy’s busy earning big bucks in “the land of milk and honey”.
As usual, we met up at Starbucks GB3.
Aside: As I stepped on the grounds of Starbucks, I was reminded of their 2006 planner promo. I was contemplating on whether to avail it or not. But my kuripot self decide to just settle with a chic but much cheaper planner. Hope I’d be able to find one before the year ends.
Back to my story, after hanging out at Starbucks, we decided to buy movie tix before attending to our already grumbling stomachs. We had to choose between The Prestige, Marie Antoinette, Santa Claus 3 and Flag of Our Fathers. We settled for Marie Antoinette.
Next, off we went to Glorietta to find cheaper restos. But, oh boy, it seems that at that point, everybody’s stomachs were craving for food, food and more food!
First plan was to eat at Banana Leaf but we only had less than an hour in our hands before the movie starts. So Banana Leaf, you’re out!
How about Sbarro? Jam-packed. Sbarro, you’re out!
Hmm Chef? Jam-packed also. Chef, you’re gorgeous but you’re out!
Umm Oliver’s? Jam-packed but we managed to get our butts a corner facing the entrance. Lory and I ordered their High Protein Sub? Tama ba? Anyway, their sandwiches are a real deli but Maki didn’t like their Spaghetti Bolognese. Jabi daw!
After dinner, Sara had to go home already. =(
Anyway, back to GB3, it was my first time to enter their theater. They have retractable armrests for the lovebirds. Haha, as if I need those! *raises an eyebrow*
About the movie, it was dibidi worthy! If it weren’t for my friends, I would have ended up snoring five minutes after entering the theater. My history teacher’s gonna kill me if she finds out that I don’t even remember who Marie Antoinette was. The ending was dull.
I’ve come to a conclusion that I’m not really into this type of flicks. All throughout the film, I was like saying, “Grabe naman ‘to!” I really don’t get their lifestyle. Sabi nga ni Maki, “Mga batugan!”
After the movie, we went back to Starbuko because Maki was being his galante self. I’m not one to pass up an opportunity like this, haha! But Starbuko was jam-packed again. So we settled for Café Breton [with Maki’s suggestion of course!].
Oooh it was not a bad choice. They have really yummy crepes. And the presentation was fabuloso! And the most enjoyable part… I didn’t spend a single cent! Oust Gloria! Maki for President! ;P
So there, that was Lory and I’s last Friday night as a bum. Time and money well spent with our three fab friends, Yo, Maki and Sara.
All the jokes and smiles!
I’m happy.
PS: Right after the movie, I saw Ron and Kelly in front of Starbucks. Such a small world! Nanuod din pala sila ng Marie Antoinette.
